This 1940s Lackner "Squire" Lighted Electric Clock. By the Lackner Neon-Glow line of clocks out of CinIt's is not only highly collectable and rare but also a piece of history. It's a desk/mantel clock with a light feature (called neon-glo which is just two small light bulbs installed under the sides between the glass dial). There is a separate switch to turn the lights on and off. The back is missing the original manufacturer logo.
The Lackner Sign Company of Cincinnati, Ohio, was one of the largest producers of neon and light-up advertising signs and clocks during the 1930s-50s. However, the desktop clocks are more difficult to find. I've only found a few examples of this item sold in the last 10 years. Approximate size is 12" x 7" x 3".
Clock condition is very good with a refinished exterior finish. Clock runs quietly, functions well and keeps time. There is some showing of age on the hands but the clock works. I've lightly oiled the internal parts and put in a new light bulb. The walnut case shows some some damage dings from the past. Also, the original time setting knob was missing when received so I've put on another which mostly matches. A new electrical cord completes the clock for continued use but due to rarity, finding parts or an original motor is extremely difficult (if not impossible).
Shipping is free and will come in a well padded box. Due to the age of the clock and movement inside, I can't offer a warranty.
