Beautiful RARE early 1940s machine-age brushed aluminum MOON CREST M-130 digital or flip clock was made by Smith Metal Arts. The clock is fitted with a Pennwood Numechron movement.
The clock is 8” long and 4 ½” high.
This specific model is attributed to industrial designer Peter Muller-Munk. It features a "Machine Age" or Streamline Moderne aesthetic, characterized by its industrial, brushed aluminum or steel casing and clean modernist lines and an industrial, machine-age feel. Condition is very good.
Clock runs quietly, functions well and keeps good time. I've lightly oiled the internal parts. The expected "click" of the rotating multi-colored time dials is soft and interesting. Some aging to the numbers on the dials as seen.
The case shows some age and wear, with light marks.
